We First Meet Kojak

Pure joy. Our first meeting with Kojak at Gentry Creek Rottweilers in Tennessee was unforgettable! We had just returned from a trip to Panama and landed at Dulles airport. Getting into the car, we expected an easy 5-hour drive; however, the weather had other ideas. A large snowstorm blanketed I-81, forcing us to travel at a 20 mph clip, dodging tractor trailers in poor visibility the whole way. We reached our overnight stop in Marion, VA just before 11 PM instead of the expected 7 PM.

The next day, we drove the extra hour to Gentry Creek and had our first meeting with the adorable Kojak. We fell in love on the spot and couldn't wait to get him home to meet Xena. Unfortunately, the weather was still foul with rain and wind instead of snow, but just as bad. Kojak curled up in the passenger seat with my wife and promptly fell asleep. He was perfect on the way home, never whimpering or complaining. We did stop several times for bathroom breaks, but he never needed any. He was happy to get home and somehow realized this was where he belonged, especially with his new best friend Xena.
